Local Law 97 imposes high costs on all buildings in the city forcing conversion of heating systems from gas or oil to electricty. New York already has an electricity shortage and skyrocketing electric prices because of shutting down clean natural gas power plants.Local Law 97 was poorly thought out and will have no real effect on polution in NYC. It should be repealed. If it is not repealed it will drive up the cost of living for all New Yorkers which will cause more flight from NYC collapsing the tax base which will lead to more taxes on the remaining citizens.
When elected to represent District 39 I will introduce a bill to repeal local law 97.
